One of my top five venues around California, Beltane Ranch is steeped in California history from Native Americans to winemakers, and is a one-of-a-kind destination for marrying couples or honeymooners alike. Set in the Valley of the Moon in Sonoma Valley, where some of the best sunsets in the world can be found, its proximity to San Francisco and its unpretentious, laid-back vibe made it the perfect setting for Elizabeth and Jayme’s garden destination wedding.

Recent transplants to San Francisco from New Jersey, Jayme and Elizabeth wanted their family and friends to experience a proper weekend away in Wine Country. Wine and food were singularly the most important elements to weave through this experience. Lucky for us, Glen Ellen and Highway 12 are perfect for this kind of wedding approach. We chose to have a Thursday Rehearsal Dinner for the wedding party and family who flew in early at the amazing Harvest Moon Cafe in downtown Sonoma, which highlights farm-to-table like I’ve never seen, changing their menu by the day. What a treat!

The wedding weekend kicked off for all guests at Imagery Estate Winery, with its expansive lawn, bocce ball court, and award-winning wine. Of course, guests were treated to the best wood-fired pizza Sonoma has to offer with local’s Joel and Noami’s Pizza Politana catering. I try to work with this husband and wife team as much as I can.

As a Sustainable Chef herself, Elizabeth knew she wanted eco and elegant to also be expressed in our wedding planning choices. We sourced sustainable local flowers, organic and seasonal food, and looked to nature to lead the summer designs in oyster grey, dusty rose, and muted persimmon. And, as an incredible baker herself, the Bride baked her own organic wedding cake to top off the night off!
